Privacy policy
The short answer: a price comparison site has no need to recognise its visitors, so we do not. Data that is never stored cannot leak.
No personal data is collected
An unregistered visitor is never asked for a name, phone number or address, and none is stored. No account is needed to browse prices or to go to a shop.
IP addresses are not stored raw
The IP address is hashed (sha256) with a salt that changes every day, and only the hash is stored. Because the salt rotates at the change of day, yesterday's hash cannot be matched against today's — long-term tracking is technically impossible. The browser string (User-Agent) is hashed the same way.
Cookies
One first-party cookie is used: "pv", for one year. It holds nothing but an anonymous identifier. It serves exactly two purposes: not charging a shop twice for a repeated click, and new-versus-returning visitor statistics.
If you block the cookie the site works in full; that click simply falls into the "not measured" group. No invented number is substituted.
What a click-out record stores
At the moment of the click we record: the shop, product and offer; the price and the list position at click time; the device type; the referring site's host only; the hashed IP and browser string; and the country. The full address, your search query and any personal data are not part of that record.
Email and notifications
An email address given for a price alert is used for that alert only; every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link. If you allow browser notifications, that subscription is likewise kept for the notification only. We do not hand these details to third parties and we do not sell them.
No third-party analytics
Google Analytics and similar external scripts are not used. Measurement runs on our own server, which means the pages you browse are never passed to another company. There is no advertising tracking pixel on the site.
A shop's own pixel
A shop may choose to install our measurement pixel on its own site. That pixel sends only the event type (page view, cart, order), an anonymous session key, the duration, the page count and the order value. No name, email, phone number or payment detail is transmitted; the report is visible only to that shop.
Requests
To ask which data relates to you, or to ask for it to be deleted, write to us. One note: the identifier is anonymous, so matching a request to one specific visitor is not always possible — that is deliberate.
